Finnegan's Pharmacy (“we”, “us”, “our”), a pharmacy registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI registration no. 10003179) at 41 Sallynoggin Rd Lower, Sallynoggin, Co. Dublin, A96 R2T8, is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect
When you use our prescription order form, emergency contraception request form, or contact us directly, we may collect:
- Contact details: name, date of birth, phone number, email address, home address and Eircode.
- Health and identity information you choose to share to let a pharmacist assess your request, which may include your PPS number, medical card number, medications, allergies, underlying conditions, and — for the emergency contraception service — details relevant to that consultation.
- Any prescription photo or document you upload.
Some of this is “special category” health data under Article 9 of the GDPR. We only collect it with your explicit consent, given via the checkbox on the relevant form, and only to the extent needed for a pharmacist to safely assess and act on your request.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
- To provide pharmacy services you request(dispensing, delivery, consultations) — necessary to perform a service you've asked for, and for special category health data, based on your explicit consent.
- To communicate with you about your order or request, by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations as a PSI-regulated pharmacy, including record-keeping requirements under Irish pharmacy regulation.
Providing this information is voluntary, but without your name, contact details and — where relevant — the health details a pharmacist needs, we won't be able to process your request.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the pharmacy and this website, acting on our instructions as data processors:
- Resend, our transactional email provider, used to deliver your form submission to our pharmacy team by email.
- Where you contact us via WhatsApp, your message is handled subject to WhatsApp/Meta's own privacy terms for that channel.
We do not knowingly transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.
How long we keep it
We retain prescription and consultation records for as long as required under PSI and Irish pharmacy record-keeping rules, and delete or anonymise other enquiry data once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Request erasure of your data, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's independent data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access limited to staff who need it to fulfil your request. No online system is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive details through unencrypted channels where an alternative (like calling us or using our HealthMail address finnegans.sallynoggin@healthmail.ie) is available.
Cookies & analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't track you across other websites. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall site traffic, such as which pages are popular and what devices visitors use. It doesn't use cookies, and doesn't collect your IP address or any information that could identify you personally, tie your visits together, or link them to a request you submit through our forms. The aggregated, anonymous data it collects (page visited, approximate location, device and browser type) is automatically deleted after 24 hours. If that changes in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
